ECM/Schoot and Company Ten

Dear John, Phil and Mark

I’m looking forward to meeting with you all on Friday 18th March. I thought it would be a good idea to send you over some information beforehand, so that you can find out a little more about Company Ten, what we do, and how we might be able to work with ECM and Schoot.

From what I understand, after conversations with Phil, I think the objective of this meeting is to:

a) Introduce John and Mark to Company Ten, what we do, and what services we offer to schools - particularly with regards to our ‘Good News Stories’ package.

b) Look at areas for cooperation including;

  • Company Ten referral/commission opportunities for ECM and their associates

  • ECM’s need for marketing and advertising

  • Company Ten’s school marketing/advertising training and how it might work on/for Schoot

I have made this page for you (only you can see it) because I want to show you ‘how we do what we do’ and give you an idea of what working with us would be like. Plus it’s a really succinct way for me to show you examples of our work - all in one place and (hopefully) easy to navigate!

Looking forward to speaking with you all on Friday

An example of a ‘Good News Story’ advert

One of our most popular packages combines our video production, social media management, Facebook ads and TikTok ads services.

In a nutshell, we create a series of ‘good news story’ adverts, presented like this one, that celebrate your students’ achievements. We get these stories in front of the right people (potential pupils and their parents), in a digestible and influencing way, utilising Facebook ads (which covers Instagram too).

These adverts build trust in the community and showcase the pride that you and your school have in your students. We make it so that applying to your school, come application time, is a no brainer - they want to come to your school!

Neve’s 98% Grade 8 ‘Musical Theatre’ result - Tamworth Sixth Form celebrated their student’s achievement in this short film about Neve.

'I am delighted to inform you that the numbers for both QEMs and 6th Form are up considerably. Through the headteacher's dynamic use of multimedia and their ability to meet with as many parents as possible, the local community are showing their belief in her leadership and their children are making the decision to join us. We have had 219 (previously 152) applications for QEMS and 415 (previously 146) applications for 6th form. We have never had this many applications to either school before.'

- Sarah Findlay-Cobb (CEO of Landau Forte Charitable Trust)

Organic vs Paid Social Media

Organic social media is the social media that you share with your friends and followers. Paid social media is when we use social media as an advert - to get in front of a new audience. Potential clients/pupils/customers for example.

Facebook/Instagram

Facebook and Instagram are the perfect platform to interact with the parents of pupils of a school. With a slightly older demographic, users still use these platforms to make contact, find out news and interact with brands.

TikTok

TikTok is for the youngsters - the majority of your students will be on TikTok. The short-form, quickly accessible and easily digestible media is where your pupils attention is. For prospective pupils, utilising TikTok is the best way to get their attention.

Facebook Ads

Facebook Ads are the best way to get your message in front of a new audience. Gone are the days when notifying your audience of an open evening by relying on a banner on the front gates. It’s 2022 and their attention is on social media. Go and get ‘em.

TikTok Ads

TikTok ads allow us to get your message in front of a new and young audience (ie. your prospective pupils). We use TikTok ads to grab their attention and provide short reminders of the great things that a school can offer.

We help schools, every day

Here’s some recent work that we’ve done with schools. Their goals varied from increasing numbers, adjusting their reputation and building trust in their community.

The first step is recognising the problem. The next one is doing something about it. These schools did something about it.

What would an ECM & Company Ten relationship look like?

We’re open to discussing any type of relationship, but here are some examples of potential styles that might work.

Referral Relationship (Where the work comes directly to Company Ten).

  • We would like to become the ‘creative agency of choice’ for ECM, Schoot and ultimately all of your clients and the schools that you work with.

  • Where your associate recognises, in a school, the need for our services - we would like to be the company that they recommend.

  • We would be more than willing to discuss a referral fee or commission structure for both ECM and the associate.

Outsource Relationship (Where the work comes through ECM).

  • Rather than the referral style above, ECM and the school have the service agreement. The creative work is then outsourced to Company Ten.

  • Again, we would need to discuss what that would look like in terms of costing. ECM might benefit here from the economy of scale.

We’re completely open to hearing any ideas that you might have about how we could potentially work together!

My belief is that working with ECM/Schoot would help Company Ten reach more schools in need of good marketing and creative services. In return ECM would receive compensation for referrals and/or creative services for themselves - again, happy to discuss ideas around this.
